Recent history

Half owned and half inherited about 15 years ago, from our grandfather "Plastira" Pseudolia, which derives from the synthesis of two words  "pseudo" and "elia"(fake olive tree), is named after the grafting of one unknown variety on a tree. People couldn't recognize the variety and so the name occurred. The trees peculiar shape which had 3 or 4 trunks also helped towards this direction.

Future plans

What we would like to achieve in this orchad is manage to keep the wild animals out of it in order to enrich our soil with some indigenous nitrogen-fixing plants. Also by regulating the pruning further, we aim to minimize the alternate bearing effect and achieve to get some produce every year.

Olive oil characteristics

The extra virgin olive oil that we get with early harvest from this specific plot is very characteristic. It has a medium fruity flavor with medium bitterness and spiciness. At the same time other than the characteristic variety's aromas of green tomato leaves and almond someone can distinguish aromas of lemon and thyme.
